Re: Help with the bottom side of Hood
I cleaned the bottom of the hood with the wire wheel on my angle grinder (there was surface rust on the bottom side of the hood). Then brushed on POR 15. Then my painter painted the bottom side of the hood body color.

As several others painted body color. If I was going for a plainer look I'd paint it inner fender black.
Mine has 120 louvers in the hood so any kind of coating would make a mess. I had a hood one time that someone had undercoated and it was heavy. I think I ended up hauling it for scrap as it was too much trouble to clean the mess off it. The only possible viable reason for putting any other coating on the bottom side of the hood is if you didn't want engine noise getting out what there is of it. Not too many AD truck folks are very worried about that. |
