These are # 10 flush type washers and they are just a hair to small to fit over the 1/4 x 20 chrome oval head screws Pic 3

Easy remedy is to use a punch and just barely enlarge the hole to fit the 1/4 x20 screw and still sit flush with the head of the screw , Pic 4

Take a scrap piece of wood and using the punch -Punch a hole in it , this supports the washer and keeps them from splitting Pic 5

Other than these old trucks I don't know of any other vehicle that uses a 1/4 x 20 flush type washer on the interior .
Well thank you guys. I did look at those but couldn't find ones fr 1/4" screw. The idea to open the #10 up may be the ticket. I will try it and see how it goes. Thank you for the suggestion and idea.
