I read that some guys shortened the input shaft and bearing retainer but I didn't want to go that route. A couple of guys even used big washers at each bolt location to space the transmission back from the bell housing but I wouldn't recommend that.

The company I bought mine from is no longer in business. I think I paid $43 for my spacer plate when I bought it.. Here are some and there are others with many different prices. Do some more searching.
