Factory Longhorn Dually?

Maybe the bed was put on later, but it would be cool if it wasn't.

Re: Factory Longhorn Dually?

Is there any way to prove its really a longhorn? I doubt it is.

Enlarging the pics I can't see any duals on the rear. Maybe a PO converted it to single? Does the "4R05PA DR Wheel Conversion" mean it had duals from the factory?

Wonder if that sidepipe came from the factory too?

In his ebay add it said he put the rear in it. It does have the buds in the front if you look at the pic.

I think it was just a 133" dually someone put a longhorn bed on, or a whole longhorn body?

Re: Factory Longhorn Dually?

I think, correct me if I'm wrong but....

the model number is CE31003

c= chevrolet
e= v8
3= 1 ton
10= 60"-65" cowl to axle dimension
0= 1970
3= CAB ONLY

so if my deciphering is correct, the bed was added to a cab only truck.

Re: Factory Longhorn Dually?

TCB is right, it was a cab chassis model from the factory. The VIN shows it too, CE339S824489... that would be a 2 wjeel drive, V8, one ton, cab/chassis, 1969, St louis plant, off the second assembly line, the 24489th off that line.

Re: Factory Longhorn Dually?

This truck has been brought up here in the past also. My opionion is a dually truck that someone added the bed to and swapped the rear end on.

Re: Factory Longhorn Dually?

I didn't even click on the link... that guy has been corrected at least twice on e-bay. He pulls it off whenever someone posts a Q and points out the VIN shows it isn't a longhorn.
The seller is a chump and trying to pass off his stuff to someone.
