4,000 mile road trip

On May 26th I embark on an almost 4,000 mile road trip which will include overlanding in Northern Ontario with West NY 4x4 club, then driving out to Kansas for my cousins wedding(making an adventure out of it); I will be driving my 1971 K10 Suburban with a 4BT Cummins. I am looking to meet up with members along the way and have some contact information in case I get stranded.

Where in Kansas will you be? I'm 45 miles southwest of K.C. on I-35. I've helped a couple folks from the board over the years.

Hotel is in Overland Park. Spending time in KC. I wouldn't mind making the drive to you just to meet a fellow enthusiast even if I don't need help!

If your coming down through WI (or across the Chi area while going west) to Kansas from Canadia, myself and biz partner are on your route. Your welcome to get at us if you need anything. I'm in Milwaukee.

I enjoy Canada in spring/summer, great scenery and um, foliage.

I will keep that in mind in general as I go through there all the time and have needed a tow previously.

You probably won't get this far south (4 hrs south of Kansas City) but if you do, get in touch, there is some beautiful scenery around here and it's a nice drive home from here.

Re: 4,000 mile road trip

I'm not on your route at all, but wish I was. I wish I could follow along. This is what it's all about. Take your special rig out and enjoy it. These trucks get so much put into them they really need to get used. I see people these days concerned with not getting their money back out of their investment without even considering "use" as a return on their investment. I hope to get some trips through at least parts of Canada before it's all over. Lots of old 2-lane throughout North America calling my name. Have a great journey!

I did not make a thread for this because it's only a 1600 mile road trip, but if you want to meet up I will be coming back from south carolina on the 15th.

Re: 4,000 mile road trip

I had a chance to be the first member to meet-up, but this rain has my work so messed up I'm way behind...and getting broke. I thought I was rained out and was going to send a text to meet up. It wasn't raining so I figured I'd get what I could done before the rain and next thing I knew it was getting dark. Oh well, catch you on the rebound. It will be better circumstances by then. Till then, have fun!

Re: 4,000 mile road trip

I hope you have better luck than I did at Roanoke. I hit a jack off a trailer, and split my oil pan. Turned out to be a good experience.

Have fun. There will be memories made.
