Bench seat from an '81 C10 fits our trucks?

Does anyone know if the OEM bench seat from an '81 C10 is a drop in fit for a '65 C10?

The front bolts used the factory holes & had to drill new holes for the rear. It's a perfect fit I think my seat is from a 90's truck

chevy2tom, the bench saw for sale on craigslist looks a bit different:

It's out of an '81 C10

Measure hole to hole on your truck floor & transfer the measurements to a piece of cardboard & bring it with to look @ the new seat also measure door to door to make sure it'll fit but it should.

The seat mounts for the '72-'87 seats are completely different from the '60-'66 seat mounting. The '88-'98 seats like chevy2tom posted are a much easier bolt in seat.

tried it out today , no go, (I will post up some pics later tonight)

the 60-66 seat riser lifts up into the back of the seat. the back of the 73-81 seat is flat, so the 60-66 seat riser would have to be modified to work, regardless looks like a lot of work to make it work.

I was sure my 63 had a 73-87 seat in it because it is not a 60-66 seat- it does not fold forward- but now I am not sure what is in it... def. not a 73-87

Re: Bench seat from an '81 C10 fits our trucks?

here are the pics: the red seat is a 64, and as you can see the mount to the rear goes much deeper than the rear section of the blue 73-87 seat next to it.

also the gray seat in my 63: anyone recognize it? it does not fold forward, it is screwed tight, but the 60-66 seat tracks bolted right up to it. I thought it was a 73-87, maybe it is a 67-72?

Re: Bench seat from an '81 C10 fits our trucks?

The 73-87 seats could be made to work easily enough. The brackets could simply be bent to sit on the floor of the 60-66 but it would still sit way too low. The best option would be to make something to bolt on that functions as a riser to lift the seat and an adapter so nothing has to be modified.

Re: Bench seat from an '81 C10 fits our trucks?

You can usually tell the square body seats as the cusion swell out on the sides after they get past the seat belt retractor. They look kinda funky in our trucks to me because of that.
