I've always liked split pea, but not my favorite....until I got the corona virus in early December, now it is my favorite!

Re: favorite snow day food?
We make ours this way. My son will literally take the bowl and the whole bag of chips with him back to his room if I let him!
Brown 1 lb ground venison or lean ground beef Add 1 package taco seasoning (I like Lawry's) and about 1/2 cup water, 2 cans Rotel juice included, and 1 brick Velveeta. I like Frito Scoops, but my family prefers tortilla chips. It's all good!

I almost always use beef or chicken stock in place of water for a little more flavor.

It sounds delicious. But I think I would go into a sugar coma in a couple of bites.

The taco soup, plus potato soup and my wife's crawfish bisque (which is cooking as I type this).

All these hearty soups, stews, and chili are what I love to fix through the cold weather season, snow or not. I especially love any of that on a cold wet day. Hmmm... that sounds like Monday here at the tail end of this storm. NY strip on the grille tonight and heart liquid (but mostly solid) food tomorrow night... and beer (maybe a shot of wishky, too)
