New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

I went to Mom-n-laws house yesterday to help clean out my FiL's garage. He passed about two years ago, and its time for a garage sale to get rid of some old clutter.

I came across this small tool box that my bro-n-law decided I should have. Its in great condition, so I was pleased to add it to my collection. I am curious about the logo on it. I haven't been able to locate any names, just this cool looking logo on the lid.

Any idea what it is?

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

I did a complete search of the box and there is NO writing on it. Nothing at all, not even a made in xxxx stamp. The only thing i did determine is it was bought at Globe.

Reminds me of the logo Dodge used on some of their cars in the early 70's

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

Ive always been pretty good with this kind of mystery, but this one has me stumped. Neither of these boxes looks familiar to me at all.

Course now its gonna drive me nuts, heh, I hope someone comes up with the answer soon.

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

My dad had that exact logo on something
when I was a kid. I also remember seeing it at shows. I Googled for half and hour and came up with nothing.

Here is another one of the roadrunner. The shape of the box is the same.

Here is one like yours. It was for sale on a vintage website. It didn't say what it was, but it did say there was a tray in it.

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

The Roadrunner appears to be the same box. It's possible they were taking advantage of the Mopar popularity of the late 60. My logo does resemble the Superbee logo for sure.

It does have a tray inside with dividers. I will post pics of that later.

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

I had a Western Auto tool box and tools when I was a kid in the 60's.
Their tool brand name was Westline.
It was a very similar red box,but I don't remember anything printed on it.
I still have most of the sockets and wrenches.

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

We had a Western Auto in the town where I grew up and I don't remember that logo at all.
I predict this will be the new "is the safe open" thread.

Re: New tool box. Anyone know this logo?

I thought of Western Auto when I first saw it, but it did not come from there. I was able to read the remains of the price tag to the right of the handle. It was bought at a Globe department store. They closed their last store in the early 80's so I know its circa late 70's which makes it a perfect accessory for my 77.

I posted a link to this thread over on the Garage Journal (sister site of the HAMB and lots of tool and tool box info there.) and basically getting the same response as here ... Yeah we've seen em, just not sure where they come from.
