is parts parts?
I recieved a JC Whitney catalog in the mail...dunno how I got on there list, but her, it's fesh readin material for the crapper.
So there I was, and I'm clad I was on the can, becouse I woulda crapped myself. A tailgate (no letters) for 150 bucks. So, my question here...are there more than one company makin these, or are they all the same. I know they say you get what yu pay for, but are parts parts, or is there an inferior gate made over the one LMC, Wess,Paul, Kingparts sells? ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it. FINALLY got the HORNIAC...a '70 one ton Longhorn with a Pontiac 350/350 and lots of 'personality'. Check out The Longhorn Webite. Cheap no good, Good no cheap. I oughta call them and see if I can get some info...I doubt there's more than one company makin the exact same thing. Even though there are plenty of them on the road, how many of them do you see on the road actually gttin fixed up? There isn't a whole lot of a market.

I was curious about there fenders, they say for 67-72 chevy and GMC, which are they??? same part number.

well, they do say to include all information though.

that tail gate mybe just the shell and you put all the guts in it. just be careful of what you wish for. try Grumpys in Az. there in phx.

I know that GMCPauls sells a blank tailgate for cheaper than that. Mine was $120 I think but thats when they were on sale in January.

Ochre/White/Ochre Runs well... working on body. Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend. Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

I can't speak for their products now, but I do know that they were thin before. I new a couple guys that bought them, painted them nice and installed them on their trucks, only to sit on one and have it fold in the center. The tailgates that I sell are heavier and stronger. I dont know about sheetmetal from JCwhitney but most of their minor stuff is pretty cool, and decent prices i found. Careful though they are always signing me up for mags and stuff that i dont want.

never bought sheetmetal from JC but alot of other stuff for my old chev and my vw bug..bumpers, door rubber, taillight lenses, cab mounts , exhaust system, carpet, winshield gasket..etc. had no trouble with anything..really liked the exhaust, it was on sale for $ 110.00 , maderal bent 2 1/2 inch from manifold back without mufflers

I purchased JC Whitney tailgate for my 72' a couple months ago, and it got to me in worse condition than the one I was replacing! Holes, gouges, tears, etc. I would not recommend buying their tailgate! Very flimsy as well!!
