Prayers, please
I have been a member here for several years. I don't post much, but read it every day.
My mother, who is 80, is in the hospital and not expected to make it. She has too many problems to list, but has always been a fighter. Every time we have counted her out over the past few years, she has come back to surprise us. This time, too many of those things are catching up to her all at once: colon problems, diabetes, general weakness, bladder infection, etc. She is in a comatose state and is not expected to recover. Please remember her in your prayers tonite. Thanks! Prof. |

Re: Prayers, please
Professor,
I'm feeling your hurt because my mom is also ill. She has smoked for many years and it has now caught up with her. They have put her on lots of medicine that is making her hear and see things. I had to make a decision last week to put her on a ventilator or let her die. Standing there looking down at the women who gave birth to me, feed me, took care of me and all the other things a great mom does, lifeless not understanding the words I LOVE YOU will make you think about a lot of things. I've prayed a lot and God has left her with us longer than what the doctors said. I know that God will only take her home when it's her time. Dear Father, We pray that you reach down and touch our friend Professor and his family. Please remain with his mom through the days to come. Let us never forget that you are creator of all and you know all. Please help their hearts and confort them. Also please still continue to touch my mom and all the people who need you Father. I pray this in Jesus name, AMEN. Professor I know we have never met and we don't know many that we type to on this express letter highway, but if there is one thing we have on this site, that's support. God bless you my friend and bless your family. You will be in all our thoughts and prayers. Matt

Re: Prayers, please
Thank you all so much.
Mom passed away on Friday morning, Sept. 1, about 4:10am. I was with her. She was asleep. She was 79 (or 80, depending on which public record you chose) and had been in poor health. Her service was yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 5). My dad passed away several years ago. My sister and I (and our families) will take a couple weeks to recoup, and then go to the farm (Mom's place) and sort through nearly 60 years of her living in one place. But, we have good memories of it all. Thank you all again. George |

Re: Prayers, please
Professor, I would like to offer you the best advice I have ever received: "Just love them while they are here. Cherish your memories for the rest of your life." It was given to me when my grandfather was battling his final days with cancer.
Know in your heart that we are here as friends that you have yet to meet, but we are there to support you and offer up our prayers. Bless your mother and your family, Dean
