IFS Angles

I am putting an IFS from TCI in my 54 Chevy Truck. I finished welding in my boxing plates and got the cross member tacked in with it level from side to side and front to rear. I have the frame angled down from rear to front at 1.5 to 2 degrees. My issue is when I set the coil spring top hats on the frame they aren't even close to being level from side to side or front to rear. Are they supposed to be? This is my first IFS install so I am scared to grind away too much before I ask some questions. Any help would be appreciated. I did a quick search for this topic but didn't see anything related to this particular issue.

Re: IFS Angles

Those spring hats will have an angle built into them front to back. The front should be higher. That is the built in anti dive. The side to side thing you talk about has got me puzzled.
Any way you could post some pics?

Here is a good PDF article for your truck.

Re: IFS Angles

yeah it seems weird to me too. the passenger side one was dead on level from side to side, it is just the drivers side one that is off. the very minimal instructions provided did mention that the vertical surfaces should fit and the tops may have to be grinded to sit flat. thanks for the article link. I will try to put some pics up soon.
