Tow and Load/ How much can I Lower?

I have 275-60-15 all around my 68 stepside. I'm building a resto rat rod combo and came to the conclusion I'm not going all out because it defeats the purpose. I want a truck and plan on using it as a truck. Lately I've been hauling bikes, rearends, lumber, cement bags, cruising, lake bbq adventures, tail gaiting, etc....the stance is ugly so I want to level it off but wanted to know what drop combos are suggested. I want to use it as a truck but look cool doing it. The best was hauling a couple of bikes last month just went with the theme of the truck....

Re: Tow and Load/ How much can I Lower?

My 68 is dropped 5/7 & I use it to pull my 18ft car hauler w/o issues (I have pulled my 74swb on the trailer w/the 68).

I used drop spindles + cut 1-coil from the front springs & I also used a 73-up 1.25" H.D. sway bar w/urethane bushings.

For the rear, I switched to air bags. They offer the convenience of going from a low stance when unloaded to leveling the truck if/when I tow @ the touch of a button.

I used Firestone F6873 dbl. convoluted bags, 1.5" lowering blocks, bolt-in c-sections (I welded the c-sections in for added assurance), an adj panhard bar, & I relocated/modified the stock shock mounts.

The most important item is disc brakes to be able to stop the truck if/when it's loaded.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
