Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

Had the wife and kids take me out for breakfast, after that spent all day trying to get the 73 up to snuff. Rebuilt the AFB carb. That went easy enough and now runs better. Also rebuilt the cv joint and new ujoints on the front drive line. Next weeks plans call for adding a new aux. tranny cooler and replace rubber brake lines. In case anyone was wondering, its a real hoot trying to make a truck go again thats been sitting in the brush for 11 years.

Went to a car show today and then afterwards I swapped out my running boards for a set of DEE ZEE BLACK FX running boards. Yet another step towards ridding my burb of bright aluminum-stainless steel & chrome.

1st pic is the old ones I removed. Then of the new ones I installed which are being trashed come Tuesday.

Had to work Saturday. had inlaws over yesterday. Despite that I managed to put down the broken concrete chunks and aggregate on 48 sf of my ban floor, 100% by hand. Oh, and mowed a bunch of lawn. So what did I get for Fther's Day? A hammock!

Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

Had a nice relaxing weekend! Hired some guys to replace my roof, they arrived at 630 Saturday morning and finished the job at 300PM. Ripped the old stuff off, replaced damaged wood, added ridge vents, they did a really nice job.

Played around in the garage a little Sunday. Finally figured out why my passenger side window was pulling free from the run channel, bad rollers on the regulator. Grabbed a new regulator on eBay, should be here mid week.

Took my S-10 out for a 20 mile cruise, that truck really is a lot of fun to drive.

I hope all the Dads here had a great day!

Went to give the trans builder the specs on my trans being built, went to books a million. Spent sunday with my 2yr old daughter. We went to the pancake house(ihop) as she calls it and then to the arcade in the mall. I had a great weekend.

Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

Painted my new Rancho shocks black vs white. One front shock came with a spacer vs the longer insert so I pressed in a longer one from my old shock so they now match.
Removed the moter mount to help remove the brake line from the front to mid way to the rear then continued removing all the brakets to the fuel lines and cleaned and painted everything. Should start putting the brake lines and front-end back in this weekend. Everything is now rebuilt and painted except for the steering box as I am waiting on a seal kit for that. I thought I could just put in a new input seal kit but found the lower o-ring was broke and it does not come with the $9 kit.

Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

I have spent teh last couple of weekends getting my house ready to sell. Packing up a bunch of stuff, and fixing a lot of things I have been putting off for quite a while. The upside is that the house looks great, and should sell pretty quickly. The down side is that puts my truck outside, and a lot of little projects I had for that on hold. I took it over to a friend of mine's shop, and tucked it into a corner in the back so I won't have to worry about it until the house sells. I did find a pretty good deal on a crewcab, so my little SWB may be up for sale pretty soon.

Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

Friday night on the phone with Captkaos getting a start on my truck.

Saturday morning resurfacing a patio, then over to my parent's house to work on their pool deck. Late morning to about 6PM with a rotary hammer removing epoxy overlay to prepare for kool deck. Started to powerwash after cleanup but called that off since dirty water was running over the coping stone & getting on the fresh grout from the new tile job. Inside to have pizza & spend some time with my Dad.

Sunday was my day, slept as late as I could (9) & made my way to the couch to watch cartoons with my daughter. Held down that fort most of the day, first day of nothingness in a long, long time.

Re: What did you get done Fathers Day edition 6/20/10

Spent the day at my friends shop working on his new race car and snapped a few pics I thought were nice.
The maroon 92 is powered by a 500 caddy engine with a 4L80E trans behind it. The truck is a blast to drive and will hopefully be mine shortly.

I installed the drop spindles and springs on the ugly truck, as well as new shocks on father-in-laws "new" '72 2wd Suburban.
Also started sanding the black off the ugly truck in preparation of gray primer....
