Cab Corner Question

Why do all the cab corners I have seen for sale have this angle back at the bottom where they meet the rocker?
Seems to me it should come straight down and butt up against the rocker all the way to the bottom so as to not fill with dirt. Am I missing something here?
I have cut little wedges and welded them in to fill that spot but was wondering about the logic of this. Kind of a body question but I'm sure some of you have run into this

The cab corner I used this past summer didn't have that angle and fit pretty good. I bought it from J.C. Whitney. Might have been made by Tabco but not sure.

Solver, that is a great fix you have come up with. I just wish that I had learned of the problem earlier. The ones we have bought from various sources could have used your idea.

Our cab corners don't look like that. They follow the rocker all the way around. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: Cab Corner Question

WES,

I need a price including shipping on the left and right cab corners for my 1967 chevy swb truck, also I am needing pricing with shipping on the firewall toe board as well.

Thanks,
