Project "Evil Twin"

I guess I need to start a build thread, I purchased this truck about 2 months back. This is my first build as far as doing it myself as opposed to taking it to a shop like my 2011. I myself am an amateur trying to learn with the help of a friend and you guys, plus I'm not rich. So with that being said, I will probably make a lot of mistakes and I may have a slower pace than most, so here goes.

The truck is factory/ stock from what I can tell aside from the motor, the seat looks like it was done recently as well. Also the speedometer is off, so maybe it was a motor/ tranny swap with a different gear for the speedo or maybe a gear swap in the rear(still leaves Posi marks though). It reads 60 while going 45.

-1968 C10
-LWB converted to SWB
-Factory 327, Currently 307
-TH350
-Factory 373 Positrac
-12 Bolt Rear End
-Factory AC/ All Weather
-Power Steering
-Power Brakes

Plans
-Forged 383 Stroker
-Vortec S/C
-4L80E
-5 Lug/ Disk Brake All Around
-Air Ride Suspension
-Rack & Pinion
-Gas Tank Relocation
-New Auto Meter Gauges for Everything
-NNBS Bench W/ Center Console
-Audio/ Video
-Debadge/ Demold
-Get AC/ Heater Going
-Murdered Out Paint Job/ No Chrome
-Double Limo Tint
-Some Nice Black Lightweight Offset Rims(16"-18")
-Wide Street Drag Radials

That's all the major stuff I believe, I'm sure there will be additions in the future. Once I get it how I want it, I'll rip it apart and clean, polish, paint, and flush everything, then bolt everything back together with Stainless Steel.

Well that is the plan so far, nothing is really final just yet except the motor which is where I begin my journey. Any and all comments, suggestions, and critique's are welcome, I'll take knowledge however I can get it, hope y'all enjoy.

D Day(Purchase)

Motor Pull

New Motor/ Parts

Sampson our Tool Fetcher(well maybe not tools, but I'm convinced that his sole purpose in life is to play fetch!!!)

Cleaning up the Engine Bay

Well guys, that's where she's at right now and I can truly say I have done all the work so far aside from the Short Block. Unlike my 2011 where I have done Zero amount of the work on. I will add more progress as it comes along, the $$$ is just trickling in at the moment so still saving up for parts on the motor but hope to have it back on the road within 2 months from now.

Motor so far :
-383 Stroker/ 4 Bolt Main
-Vortec V3 S/C @ 6PSI
-Forged Crank
-Forged/ Dished Pistons(Approx. 9:1:1)
-H Beam Rods
-ARP Head Studs
-MLS Fel-Pro Head Gaskets
-Edelbrock Victor Jr Heads(70cc)
-Edelbrock Victor Jr Intake
-ARP Intake Bolts
-Quickfuel 750 Double Pumper Carb W/ Boost Blowthrough

On Order :
-Crower Hydraulic Cam
-Deep Oil Pan
-Timing Cover
-Valve Covers
-Comp Roller Rockers
-Pro Billet MSD Kit W/ Rev Limiter(Box/ Distributer/ Plug Wires)

Need to Get
-Hooker Super Comp Long Tube's
-Dual Electronic Exhaust Cutout's
-Full Dual 3" Exhaust(Magnaflow/ Corsa/ Borla)
-Fuel Pump/ Filter
-Braided Lines for Everything
-Spark Plugs
-Ect
-Ect
-Ect

I'm sure there's a Ton of stuff I'm leaving out, but its Sunday and y'all know what that means. FOOTBALL!!! I'm about to work on the engine bay some more and watch the Texans spank the Bronco's, hopefully I get to see JJ Watt and Brian Cushing toss Peyton around like a rag doll.

Like I said before, all comments welcome, enjoy guys.

Great start. Looks like it'll clean up nice. Very cool you are building the engine yourself. Reminds me of mine, last year. I went with Eldelbrock eTech 170's. I see yours are Vic Jr.'s nice. btw, that bench seat looks fresh.

Thanks everybody. Victor Jr 23 Degree. I do love the way the bench looks but I am so accustomed to having an arm rest/center console.

Re: Project "Evil Twin"

Arm rest for me - placing my [right] arm along the top of the bench. Cup holder - middle of cab floor, nice and flat
