Digital dash options

I see LMC just came out with a new Digital Dash kit priced at $400. Want to see if anyone had any feedback or experience with it yet?

I wanted to go with Dakota Digital but may consider the LMC kit at half the price.

Re: Digital dash options

I am very interested in the LMC one as well. Though, with all the bad reviews of LMC I am hesitant. We installed a set of Dakota Digital gauges in my buddies S10 show truck, and they are killer! Very worth the price, yet the LMC kit's price is certainly more enticing lol.

Re: Digital dash options

Dakota Digital is very nice quality, and you can't go wrong there, and they are USA made. I do know that Dakota Digital is not making these for LMC.... I don't have any info on the LMC, so they may be also, but not for certain. I would think with the price, they may not be.

There is a reason the LMC dash is half the price. You will get to buy it twice. If Dakota is too expensive try Autometer. Summit has a 5 instrument set for around $500.00

Re: Digital dash options

Any time something is half the price of a known good item, it scares me away. If its from LMC and they aren't disclosing the manufacturer-----thats even worse.

That is a good price though for digital.
It sounds like the Speed Hut gauges I bought by the wording. They are Ameican made and very nice gauges. I don't know this but after reading the advertisement I thought I was reading the same one as Speed Hut.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Digital dash options

It looks pretty sweet but we will see about the quality. I know it is half the price of the Dakota Digital Dash but electronics are getting super cheap look at cell phones. An iPhone was $499/$599 when they came out. Apple has recently released their budget version for $99 and it does everything but dance for you. If I had the money I'd pick one of these up. I would also expect to see other digital dashes come down in price. Electronics have only one trend-get cheaper. The only reason these digital dashes aren't already cheaper is because they are unique to our trucks.

All that said the LMC dash could be junk...we will see.

Re: Digital dash options

I appreciate all the comments. I know that we all get what we pay for but I also do know there are good economical products out there they just need to be given a chance. If I choose to go this route I will be sure to post my feedback and experience. Maybe one of our favorite mags will do a review on it in the mean time.

Re: Digital dash options

I got some info on the lmc digital gauges. I called LMC and it was tough to get any info on the setup they sell. It took awhile but finally got them to send me the instructions.
The gauges are made by intellitronix for lmc. I called them and the gauges have a lifetime warranty and intellitronix states if you have a different powertrain need or problem you can send it to them and they will reflash to your needs for free(u pay shipping).
I called because I am putting a newer 700r4 behind a carbed ls motor. The 700r4 is the non cable version and they said just send it in and they will set it up to be plug and play.

So I ordered it.
Intellitronix has a 2 year contract through LMC only to sell it , so you cant get it anywhere else.
Hope this helps. I will review it when I get it but its gonna be a month or so

Anyone know if this works with an HEI distributor or would i need an signal adapter? My truck came with points and i have since converted to HEI. I called LMC and they are unsure because no one has asked that question yet. I called Intellitronix but have got voicemail a few times.

Re: Digital dash options

I am installing one, but it may be a few months. I picked one up at a discount and couldn't say no.

Also, you don't need a signal adapter for an HEI distributor.

Re: Digital dash options

I have one installed still work in out the ls swap bugs with it. So far have the temp oil fuel and volt meter Worked out just trying to work out the rpm gauge and then the speedo. My truck is still in paint prison so I can't test the speedo. I thought I had a better picture but I don't I'll see if I can get one tomorrow.
