69 heater/AC question

I am working on getting my 69 put back together and am working on the heater/av controls. I could not get the temp lever to go all the way to the hot side and after doing some research on the forum I checked the operation of the blend door under the hood by taking enough of the housing apart to get to it. It did have a lot of leaves and trash inside of it. After cleaning it out I checked the operation of it and noticed that it did not close all the way in the hot position. I am wondering if this correct or should it close all the way in both directions.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Re: 69 heater/AC question

My lever's the same. Has been since new. No problems with heating or cooling.

Re: 69 heater/AC question

Those cables on those can be very stiff, hard to move and the housing can squirrel around and not move the arm as far as it should. If you can find some graphite suspended in a light oil it will help on the cables but I'm planning on replacing mine with some better cables when I get it apart again. They do work better after I lubed them but I want better.

Not sure that's your problem but it is mine.

Re: 69 heater/AC question

Thanks for the information. I am planning on completely taking the heater/ac box apart and doing a good cleaning on all of the parts and replacing what needs it.
