New to these pickups - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I shouldn't say I'm real new to these pickups, always liked them, have owned two, but mainly stick to the 60-66 stuff. Until last night when a guy I do pickup business with says he's selling his 25 year collection of parts and he has two pickups. He's asking 1000 a piece and not sure if that's a fair price or not. Here's why they are:

1971 Cheyenne 2wd ac, ps, pb, automatic, 350/350 runs and drives long bed. Different bed than original but very nice disc brakes..rust in the cab corners but rest is pretty solid Clean title.

The other is a 1970 4wd long bed. Automatic and factory disc brakes, all complete, 350/350 combo, non ac, cab has usual rust spots and also comes with a nice bed. power steering and brakes.

Just seeing if these would be worth picking up

And a 70 would have drum brakes, so it had a swap done or it is a 71.

As long as they run & aren't swiss cheese, then yes those are good deals. I also wonder why I couldn't get that lucky.

I have never seen a 70 with factory Disc Brakes - five lug wheels - but - I guess it's possible.

There have been a lot of rumors floating around over the last hundred years about late model year built 1970's having disc brakes and 5 lug wheels. But I have yet to see one.

Not to doubt the OP here. But proof one exists would be great.

Kinda like the unicorn 4 bolt main 327.

I hear that! I can just see the craigslist ad now; I have four of those ultra rare 4 bolt 327s in my shed under 40 years worth of crap, all out of corvettes. They ran great when pulled 40 years ago. 10,000 each!

I've had a few discussions over that very subject with a co worker over the last little bit. He swore up and down passionately he had a 4 bolt 327. Well He does indeed have a 4 bolt 327.... that started life as 350.
I'm in to see pics of said spid and truck.
