favorite snow day food?

I just replied to another thread and got to thinking about chili lol.. So what is your favorite cold weather snow day kind of food?

I love this one.. krue posted it years ago. His taco soup. Momma always made beef stew or such on cold days, comfort food. How about you?

1 can of whole kernel corn-drained
1 onion-chopped
2 cups of water

Mix all ingredients together in large pot and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes

Top with cheese and sour cream if you like and eat with tortilla chips or corn chips.

Serves: A bunch!

2 dozen Oreos

Preparation

2. Pour the caramel topping evenly over the Twinkles and smooth with a knife.
3. Pour the miniature marshmallows over the top of the caramel until it is completely hidden.
4. Pour the hot fudge over the marshmallows.
5. Sprinkle the spices over the hot fudge.

It sounds delicious. But I think I would go into a sugar coma in a couple of bites.

Re: favorite snow day food?

Our snow day is starting a little after lunchtime tomorrow. It will be snow until later tomorrow night when it turns to sleet, then freezing rain, then just cold ash rain through the night. I'll be working till it starts snowing and driving home. I picked up a nice fat steak to grille. I love grilling in the snow. I don't know why, I just do. Otherwise I might just sit inside

Your Taco Soup recipe is one of two I saved when we had Gearhead Gourmet here, which was a great forum that needs to come back but who am I to say what should be done while placing the burden on the powers that be who are already undulated with spammers trying to resister every day while messing the sign up process for the good people wanting to join here who I think would also really like Gearhead Gourmet because everyone loves food, and I make it quite often.

All these hearty soups, stews, and chili are what I love to fix through the cold weather season, snow or not. I especially love any of that on a cold wet day. Hmmm... that sounds like Monday here at the tail end of this storm. NY strip on the grille tonight and heart liquid (but mostly solid) food tomorrow night... and beer (maybe a shot of wishky, too)
