Name that transmission/transfer case
Can anyone help me identify this trans & transfer case? I was told it’s Chevy.
I’m pretty sure it’s an np205 tcase. Not sure on transmission. Picture is the only info I have right now. |

Re: Name that transmission/transfer case
Trans is a saginaw 3 speed, t-case is a 205. Unusual combo, most of the early 3 speeds had a Dana 20 t-case attached to them. On the back of the 205 is a tag, it should have a date on it. Should've been bolted to 250 or 292 I6

Re: Name that transmission/transfer case
Thanks! Is the 205 that came behind the Saginaw 3 speed the same as the 205 that came behind the sm465?

Re: Name that transmission/transfer case
205 is a 205, but to be honest I've never had a 3sp combo to see what the spline count is on the input gear. Pop the 8 bolts and separate them, then we'll all know
