Re: Rubber bumpers advice

I'm pretty sure, most of these, like most repop items come from the same place...few exceptions. I got my tailgate ones on eBay, the hood from one of the main supplies - LMC or the like. the fit is fine and do as designed

New - engine rebuild at 65k in 2015, one repaint in 2010, new front bumper, houndstooth seat, carpet, 8 inch rally wheels on 275-60R-15, LED lighting. - Semper Paratus!

For quality and fit on that deserving build, it doesn't get much better than original equipment rubber parts while still obtainable. If interested, we have a limited supply of long discontinued GM NOS fleetside, blazer and jimmy tailgate four piece bumper sets available in the below linked parts board f/s thread. If you decide on an NOS tailgate set, we can also pull out and offer you the hood bumpers in an all GM NOS six piece set for $115. more and will send both bumper sets combined for the one shipping charge. Let us know, Mel

There are 4 fender to hood bumpers. Are you offering the threaded front bumpers?

Stick with GM if you can find them or want to spend the extra. The repro rubber does not last nearly as long, nor is it the same composition as GM.

Re: Rubber bumpers advice

I can confirm the terrible quality of most of the Chinese rubber parts being sold by all venders. Exspecialy the in cab fuel tank inlet seal, garbage ! The problem for most is the up charge for NOS. I coat mine often with vinyl conditioner to keep them soft and pliable.

$100 for the set! Wow, that's absolutely insane. I personally would just go without. the tailgate actually serve no real purpose, the hood, slightly more purpose.

I'm thankful we have members like Mel who make a huge effort to hunt down and make available these ultra-rare and highest-quality parts for our 50+ year-old trucks.
