Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I found a couple things of interest. A neighbor has a Chevy truck body on a Corvette chassis.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...520027795.html
Extra patina, https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sg...547578423.html
This is a real good price compared to all the rest, https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...533906042.html

The second two look great but kind of far from Indiana. The first, just my opinion, seems like would have been easier & possibly turned out nicer if he had just put the Vette engine, trans, front & rear suspension on the truck frame. I'm sure it hauls a$$ but kind of the most difficult way to get there.

I agree - looks like a 65 to me - unless GMC letters in grill got changed.
66 was 1st year of red in GMC grill letters.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I am getting kind of tired of people calling every rusty truck a barn find. It has been use so much that people have started calling them true barn finds. If some one sells a barn find is it still a barn find.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

You're in Burbank. I'm in Van Nuys. I haven't seen any barns in Burbank,,, outside of the Sony studios. None here in Van Nuys, either. My C-50 NAPCO was sitting outside in Bodfish. I just bought a F-900 Marmon Herrington that was sitting outside in Roseburg. Am I prohibited from calling them barn finds?

Can it only be a Barn Find once?
What if someone finds it in a barn, drives it for awhile, and then puts back in a barn? If someone later finds it in a barn, does it fall back under the 'Barn Find' status?
And just as important; does the value of the the truck vary depending on whether it was found in a barn, or ever in a barn at any given time?

That reminds me of when people say they are the original owner. If it is a piece of crud does it really matter. It is funny when people say they bought it from the original owner when they try to sell it.

On fast and loud Richard always refers to them as one owner cars even if he just bought it. Please don’t turn this into a Richard bashing thread.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

uhm, does this qualify for rare one owner barn find if it was my dad's new, only one in there, and I pulled it out of our barn?

guess it really isn't a 'find' since I knew it was in there

I would say you qualify across the board.
It's still a barn find. You just knew you would find it in there.
You found it in the barn where you knew it would be.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

now all you have to do is put it in a barn after you finish it so that your little helper can find it unless that's you in the photo.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds C-30 & C-60

I'm looking at that LONG C-30 panel and thinking back in time. I worked for a company called, Point South Caravans. I had inheireted my father's '62 GMC Suburban with a V-6 and a Hydramatic. I changed it to a SM 420 and a later C-20 disc brake subframe. I took out the torsion bar setup.
I got a free rear diff from a '68 F-250. I made that work with the GMC swing arm rear suspension. Some woman paid me to haul a huge load of her stuff from Los Angeles to Anchorage. That helped pay my gas for the trip. I had to put in Moog Cargo Coils cause I swear that she had a load of diving weights.
Between 1980 and 1990, I worked taking caravans of motorhomes to Mexico in the winter and to Alaska in the summer. I lived in that short Suburban for a good part of 10 years. I also had to haul a bunch of tools and parts. What I would have given for some more room.

Getting to the present, I fouind a couple of very interesting Chevy trucks.
A C-60 car hauler that is pretty close by.
https://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/d...522356089.html

A C-30 tow truck that has a big Tulsa? winch that even has a capstain on it.
