The tongue is pretty short. I would think that it would be kind of squirrely but it's made it all these years so what do I know.

Now you need a 15 foot Roman archer in it . Make a great lawn art piece . Giant chariot

I never noticed but you're right. It does look like a chariot.

I'm not a big patina guy but I may not paint it. Just make it roadworthy and put some vintage looking wheels on it. It shouldn't be a big deal. (Famous last words).

EXACTLY !! I was going to say it looks like a race chariot out of Ben Hur. Artillery wheels would be perfect with one of these welded to each hub, for the meat heads on the road that get too close beside it...

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Finally fixed my camper trailer brakes I had replaced all 4 backing plates and rotors . New bearings and seals . But the brakes still weren’t working well they would slow the truck but not aggressively even set at the highest setting and manually activating the system . I had checked that there was power at the brakes when applied and the controller showed it was connected . So I had my grandson activate the brakes manually and I checked the voltage which I should have done from the start. At the highest gain I was getting a little over 8 volts at the brake . Checked the voltage at the truck plug and it was a little higher but not much . And right out of the controller I had 8.44 . The Tekonsha P2 in the truck is the older model and 13 years old . So I took the new the new P3 out of the 72 and I got 11.4 bolts at the trailer brake at full gain . I reset it to the normal setting and wow it brakes like new .

Not really sure why the controller would give low voltage it should work or not it’s completely electronic .

The shoes have a little surface rust on them been sitting on the shelf in my garage for 27 or so years

Well I finished up my log-lifter for my 3 point hitch. It turned out well. A coat of paint and it will look factory. I just hope it works.

This fell out of the sky and landed in my yard today.

At least that's what I told my wife.

What Jeep?

Replacement for the dually I guess? I know nothing about late model Jeeps but it should be way easier on the pocket to operate and still haul things.

Good guess. The dually is just to big for my needs.

Hey Boog. Wanna buy a dually?? I'll throw in a free horse trailer! I can even take the Ford emblems off it and replace them with bowties. You'll never know the difference.

Damn, I'm sure I can't afford it, but what do you need for the dually ? I need a "new" truck to put my roll back on. The 454 in my '89 gave out last fall.

I sold it already. I sold it and my Winnebago, and a Saturn that was my mothers all in one day. I didn't even advertise them.

That helped ease the sting of paying for my fence today. Wrought iron isn't cheap and I just fenced in a 1 acre lot. That's a lot of fencing.

I have a friend that just bought an '87 Chevy C70 at an auction. It is a local truck with 104,000 miles on it. 18' bed with 2 speed rear axle. Not sure what engine it has but the guy drove it home and said it runs really good. I think he wants $2500 for it. The only thing it ever hauled was balsa wood sawdust from the factory to the local landfill, so it was never worked very hard.

I will find out what engine it has later today.

Well I finished up my log skidding attachment. Seems to weigh about 75 lbs. All heavy tubing and several lbs of rod. Just got the painting done. I will report on how it works.

I was skeptical, did it last week. Had a couple of rust holes that I "fixed" with electrical knock outs and jb weld. Flex sealed the whole thing and no leaks!

The thing I have Learned about Flex seal Is.

It will fix a Water Leak.

It does Not Like Oil At All.

Oil will deteriorate it and seep through.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My swamp cooler is rusting from the inside out, but will hopefully last awhile longer. Last fall I shut off the water & drained the line, but the shutoff valve must have failed. Water in the copper tubing froze and split the tubing. Took all day to get new copper from under the sink, between two walls, through the hot attic, & up to the cooler. Got a new valve and hooked it all up. It's finally working well again -- and next week is supposed to be much cooler, and rainy.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I spent time Saturday and today sanding and polishing up the big azz headlamps on the wife's Yukon. Actually these are the original ones that were replaced with some she found online some years ago. The online ones didn't hold up as well as OE, as expected. I polished the replacements up last year and they're bad again. I saved the OE headlamp assemblies and found them in the north end of our storage unit, the one I have been working on the last couple of weeks. Forgot I saved them. Anyhoos, I started with 400 grit paper and finished up with 3000, then the polisher. Whole lot of work for something that will need it again in less than a year I imagine.
You guys have any tips on how to make them last longer? It's just plastic.
