Thanks man. I did it to the air cleaner first and like it. I'll get a pic of them together but here is the cleaner I did two weeks ago. Gonna continue the theme on the rod covers and other parts of the engine when I can

Forgot to add bonus picture of my dog coming along for an early test cruise, looking a little apprehensive about the whole thing.

Got all the kinks worked out with the headlights. I had to remove the fancy halogen upgrade wire kit as the highbeams would not function correctly no matter what we did. Went back to the standard wire harness.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

More done over the past couple days.

Started out by tearing down my 800 mile L99 to delete the DOD/AFM and VVT, basically making it an LS3.

All but the valve covers and coil packs was not reused, part of the deletion of the AFM and VVT stuff.

After getting most of back together, I decided on some PRC springs, TSP cam, some Yella Terra Ultralite roller rockers.

Got the new 4L70E buttoned up with the Circle D converter.

And if you don't have one of these, money well spent IMO..

All sitting in the truck now on the PB stage 1 cross member.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Guess I got to 4 cab mount bolts from a full body off resto, thanks to certain parts needing replacement and restoration.

Wishbone stripping prior to cleanup.

Truck as I left it tonight......

Some parts will need buying, many just cleanup and reassembly.

This is fuuuuuun...!!

Thanks Grizz! It's been a long road to get this far. With the work your doing on your rig, I'm sure you know exactly what I mean ...Luv the stuff your doing with your truck and I'm sure it will look better than mine when your all done. I really just want a cool driver, something I won't be afraid to take out every day if I want. Paint is far from perfect but I'm ok with that, good enough for now.

Thanks Martin. We all had to start somewhere, been peeking in on both your builds here and there.

One thing, I wish you guys lived down the street from me, you guys seem like a lot of fun and really enjoy these old trucks and I like the way you guys help each other out. If I had the time, space and money, I would own at least 10 more trucks from different years.

Thanks I wish I lived down the road as well , getting parts would be a lot easier. The nearest we are going to be to down the road is our road trip in October.

I watched my roof grow more patina. It's been raining here all weekend. Time for a coat of clear, I guess...
