Well, at least she gives a decent weather forecast. Our weather gal has about 2 minutes to give hers. She has to talk so fast she makes all kinds of mistakes...

Looks a little bumpy out there for sure.

Yeah, a lot of guys like to watch a bimbo. I watch the weather to gain accurate knowledge. She's about ditzy. Obviously hired to be the (bleach) blonde bimbo. It's as if she knows that and acts a bit uncomfortable, nervous. She's just reading off (trying to) what the real meteorologists compile. The station has a great meteorology dept., accurate w/o tacky drama. She is the exception. She sounds like an airhead, speaks in cliches that don't apply, etc. She usually says, "If you have outdoor plans..." 6 or 8 times a forecast, as if going outside is an exception. I guess for some that's true, house to car, car to office or store.
Didn't you catch the couple mistakes she made? "From single digits to a balmy 15* downtown", except in southern MD it's in the 20s and lower Eastern Shore (Ocean City) at 30*. "...breakdown of the next couple of hours", which is the 12 hour forecast they always show. Looking at the map it shows 1-3" in Southern MD (same as Baltimore) and she says it should be mostly a rain event down there. Southern MD is what is west of the bay and the all rain/no snow is on the lower Eastern Shore.

I'll take Ava Marie any day. She gets it out clear and concise, is cute as a button, great personality, a brain, and seems wholesome. Tom Tasselmeyer is a true expert. He's the head honcho. I watch the weather when I'm out of town and it's usually real annoying, like The Weather Channel, like they're trying to entertain you with weather. I have a NOAA radio and they have a website as well. That's the true and actual scientific report for your surrounding area. But I prefer hearing a human voice and channel 11 is good.

Nothing here yet! This one is coming up from the south more than the west. We're usually about a half hour to an hour ahead of Baltimore's forecast

Re: Hey Tim!

Hey Mark, it was 9* here this morning. Been gradually warming through the day. Snow started at 2:30, got 5", and now it's rain. Never heard any sleet. I need to go out and check if it's even freezing rain. I sure hope not. They said before it stops around daybreak ir may end up snowing again. Lovely Mid-Atlantic weather we are having

Re: Hey Tim!

Not what I wanted to come out to this morning. We had some crazy wind last night ans still blowing pretty good now. Gonna get momma's denali moved away but the back of the carport is wedged under the back of my truck. Wind going to have to drop off before I get messing with that. I can use my crane to grab ahold of the carport, just hoping for no damage to the main shop. From what I can see it ripped all the rebar spikes clear out of the ground.

Dang Richard. That looks pretty bad. Hopefully it didn't get all smashed up and can be repaired. Good thing it didn't hit the Denali.

I was thinking of getting a carport like that. I'm thinking twice about it now after seeing that.

It probably should have been anchored a bit better and it would have probably held but my underground electric line to the house was directly in line with the left side. I have a phobia of driving rebar thru 240 volts, it makes my eyes hurt at a minimum. Insurance man is coming out soon to take a look to see if it is covered so I had to rope it in place for now. I have an 80' boom truck to bring it back over but it is pretty jacked up at this point. Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.

It is proximity to the sea coast, The counterclockwise rotation brings warmed air off of the ocean (water temp about 45* now) as it passes north. Once we got the bottom of the spiral it turned back to snow, early this morning. The warm air rises above the more dense cold air mass, drops rain through that, which freezes as it passes through at lower altitude, or comes all the way down as rain, but freezes on contact with the cold surfaces

Sorry to see this mess, Richard. That wind has been brutal. I had no work at my regular job today (due to the weather), so I worked on a side job for an old customer. This afternoon the wind started kicking back up again. Must have been gusting 50 or better. I had three sheets of plywood stacked on saw horses clamped together to cut all three at once. I went inside for a minute and a gust flipped all three off and over into the porch posts. It was then that I decided to abort and G.T.F home!

I still hear it out there kicking it up, and I'm in a pretty sheltered area

Now here is a good weatherman. Not good weather, man. Good weatherman :

Tied into something above ground like pier blocks maybe? Might have walked centipede style a little bit, but probably wouldn't have headed toward Kansas or out of Kansas or whatever it was that happened with Dorothy and all that.

I've heard of a Pontiac GTO, GTA, and GTP and a Subaru Outback, but a GTF Outtahere would be good car to have.

Or chili, depending on what kind of fast you mean

Re: Hey Tim!

Hey Richard! Looks like you Shore Birds are due for some snow that us Western Shore Whatevers* won't be seeing. Getting to be a bad habit with weather, ey? Snow up the coast that inland doesn't see, or just more than us.

* C'mon, you can tell me what (kind of hole) you call them. Might want to do that in a PM. You know, board decency and all . Just remember, the farther west you go the more like you all we get, regular people. The same type are invading us, too. The only shore I'm on is a meadow by a stream and my water finds the bay in the Potomac a long way from here
