Wiper ?

I new blades and have 'twisted' the arms to where they are 'flopping' over on the alternate sweeps. Normally they work OK but at times they start stuttering - especially at idle when voltage drops.

Is this because the transmission linkage is worm out?

Thanks

I will give this a shot. It's late and my brain isn't working like it should so I hope I'm understanding your problem. The first thing I would do is to lube all of the moving parts. You can use a little penetrating oil and see what it does. The linkage is easy to lube but the transmissions not so much. If you can bend the spray nozzle tube and get it up under the base of the wiper arms it should seep down into the pivots. Are you trying the wipers with the windshield wet or dry?

Re: Wiper ?

I just soaked my transmission linkage for about 4 days in penetrating oil. Now they move OK. Then I soaked them in engine oil for another couple of days. They are just as smooth as the day they were made.

My wiper blades chatter some unless the windshield is at least a little wet. I don't know how old your wiper blades are but part of it might be because the blades are old and hard. You might try some new ones.
