I was thinking of that same combo, any thoughts on where or how that shifter is going to be inside. Guess running buckets is the only option.

Still looks Cool.... and Good Luck!

not much help as far as shifter position, but I came across a fellow who used a 4wd floor pan to give the 6 speed proper clearance. Ill re-post if I ever find the link.

Please let me know what you find. I haven't tackled it yet.

67Cheby, That looks like an easy cure.. Did the high hump come in a certain year or transmission option? Thanks for the help!

The easiest ones to find are in manual trans trucks but they also came in 4x4's and those trucks with a T-400.

Until last weekend I had an extra one I would have given you. I just put it into my 67.

They aren't too hard to find and tend to run around $40 to $60 in good shape when I have seen them for sale.

A square body truck piece is a whole lot easier to find and fits pretty close but the back end doesn't match up and the lower corners of the front are mismatched a little. With a little fab work you could make one fit if you have a hard time finding a good 67-72 piece.

The T-56 is the same length as the 4L60E so the shifter should be within the high hump tunnel area.

The trans in the pic below is a 4L60E.

The worst thing you would need is an offset shifter handle to push the lever forward away from the front of the seat a little.

Very nice build. I was they guy mentioned above who used the 4WD hump (or BBC hump) with my LS/t56 swap. It will give you loads of room and is a very easy option.

Also, if you want to run a bench with the t56 you can - I did. You just have to find a shifter that is bent right. I happened across a factory '68 b-body mopar shifter and it worked perfectly. I raised it 1" tho.

Again, nice work. You're going to love it.

Thanks to your help, I did use a high hump. I modified it for the new shifter location.

Working on the bed now. Soda blasting is complete. I would not recommend doing this in front of your house like I did.

I used a scotch Brit sponge, brake clean and a lot of time.. I wanted to keep the factory look. I did not want it polished. I love your build. Keep up the good work man....

The bed....... Initially, I had planned on only removing the right side of the bed for a replacement. After removing part of the bed I found out it was really easy and better to disassemble the complete bed in preparation for paint. Most of the carriage bolts I had to weld strips of metal on the heads to stop them from turning. I was also able to get into every crack and crevice to remove old paint & grime.
