Unamed Truck Build

Well I have decided to start a very slow build thread of rusty broke down truck. My truck has sat for about 5 years and now it is in my hands to do what I please with it. I want to put the truck back in original factory condition with maybe some slight modification. My main priority as of right now has been to replace the body on my truck seeing as most of it is similar to swiss cheese. But as I have just recently found a cab and bed for my truck I have noticed there are some other things I would like to do to the truck as I progress through this. I want to completely clean up the frame of all the rust it has and make repairs if needed. Paint or put some kind of rust protection, which ever is better. I will be needing a lot of help from everyone on here along the way. And finally I would like you guys to help name my truck, thanks.

I thought I had a big project ahead of me with my 84 K10, but it looks small in comparison with yours. I can't wait to get home a get back to work on mine. Good luck looks like you've got a big job ahead of you.

Yeah I do, but I talked to the guy and all together I can get a new cab, bed, and passenger side front fender for $250. But I need to find a trailer first before I can do anything.

Re: Unamed Truck Build

Got my cab and front fender yesterday, I will try to get pictures tomorrow. Came with cab corners, but will need rockers too. They got damaged during the moving process. Overall it is a nice cab the will be a easy fix and hope to start repair soon.

Re: Unamed Truck Build

So an update, I got the truck sitting on a new set of rims and tires. Tires are 32x11.50r15 about a 1 inch step up. Looks nice I think. Next step is to hunt down a bed for it.

Re: Unamed Truck Build

They are all bolted on. If you look around the bottom of your wheel wells from under the truck you can start to see the bolts.

That's what I thought just wanted to make sure before I took them all out and waste my time. Thanks.

Re: Unamed Truck Build

There is also one weld holding the tail gate post to the floor. Cut that with a grinder before you take all the bolts out.
