Color of 67 splash shield beneath the grill.

I have been working on my 67 that came to me as a pile of parts, but no splash shield under the grill. I have one now that needs to be installed soon and just wondered if they get painted black or did they get the body or grill color? If anyone could answer with a photo that would help also. Thanks, george

GM Satin Black just like the frame, the fender skirts, the radiator, a lot of pulleys and brackets, etc. Any color you want as long as it's black.

Were those were 67 only? I have a couple of them and have no idea what to do with them. To bad you aren't nearer.

'67 and '68. Hood/Fender/Doghouse style changed in '69 to a blunter configuration. [And less pretty, IMO.] Splash shield/ oil can shelf was deleted with the change.
Not knowing that, I once talked the Seller of a '71 GMC down $250 because the Splash Shield was missing. I thought it had been lost on a rebuild.

Well we Inliners have to scrimp every penny, since L6 Performance parts cost so much more than V8 stuff.
Hell, even Ford guys run SBCs in their Model A roadsters.
