Floor mat help needed.

Well it looks like I need a new rubber floor mat. I wanted to keep the original but it sorta fell apart. It was, afterall, 41 years old!

I want as close as I can get to what an original 1972 rubber floor mat would be, column shift, low hump.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Floor mat help needed.

I bought a low hump mat from Brothers, first one shipped did not fit at all ? Second one had high beem switch in wrong location, I got it to work but it ended up splitting down the center of the hump in less then a year. China rubber does not come from trees ? I would put a carpet in it my self next time

I need one as well, trying to find out if anybody makes them like the factory, all the aftermarket ones don't seem to be right.

They USED to fit great but be very careful... A lot of the new ones are not molded very well. The pattern has no detail. A couple of the vendors have temporarily quit selling them....

My supplier has one good one he is saving for me but he says the latest ones look pretty bad.

Re: Floor mat help needed.

Got mine from the Truck and Car Shop. Identical match/stamp. May not be the same quality/thickness compared to original (which was actually painted from the factory) but looks sharp. Mine's covered with another true rubber mat (from the 80's) so I'm not concerned.

I'd like to see what one of the Brother's installed looks like.

Re: Floor mat help needed.

Bought one (low hump) and returned it. Bought a second one from a different vendor--doesn't fit well at the top of the tranny hump. If I thought there was another one out there that would fit well for sure--I'd buy it.

Re: Floor mat help needed.

I got lucky and bought an original nos for my next truck that someone had bought at their local chevy dealer in the late 90's. it still has a sticker with gm part number on the backside. The previous owner decided to go with carpet. Best $100 i ever spent.

We did put one from lmc in our 71 gmc about 10 yrs ago. It was still in excellent shape a year ago when we soldthe truck. It seems the quality is going down lately.
