What goes in this hole? Its been about 15-20 years since I disassembled.

Looks like it is usually/sometimes just a dimple in the firewall. Is yours an A/C truck? If it is, perhaps it is a provision for that.

Otherwise PO might have drilled it out and utilized it for something else since it is convenient to use.

My grandpa bought the truck new. It never had ac. Was 6ycl 3 speed plain jane truck.

Well, called my dad and talked to him about it. He said he remembered, my grandpa kept having trouble with blower motors and they drilled the dimple to put a bolt and ground blower. Makes sense to me. I guess the mystery it solved. Thanks.

My 70 has a retaining grommet in it for the firewall insulation. You can kind of see it in these pictures. I just replaced all this during my restoration process.

I also have a plain jane heat-only truck. Mine has a firewall insulation clip in that hole also as stated above. They push in from the interior and stick through the firewall.

My best guess is the antenna wire for the radio.
