Steering column installation help!

Hey guys I removed my column 3 years ago and now it's time to reinstall. I've tried to find a specific pic or instruction and can't seem to find it. I hope one of you guys can help out.
On top of the column there are 3 notches or slats that fit into a "tooth" if you will. Which one of the 3 "notches" does that "tooth" go into? The one closest to the wheel or the one closest to the firewall?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

1968 GMC BBC truck. Just invade that makes any diff.

I don't remember a column with three square notches in it. If I had to guess I would say the one closest to the wheel. If it wasn't -1º out I would go out and check a couple of my columns...

There you go.... I would be wrong.... Kev is the "Go to guy" for tilt columns, he has rebuilt a LOT of them.

So the one furthest down the column right? These are the "notches" I'm talking about.
Thanks again for your help guys.

Re: Steering column installation help!

Hey guys. Im new on here and not able to make a new thread. I'm having trouble with my 1968 column also. Mine is non tilt and I can't get the bearing/turn signal housing to sit on the column correctly. There are 3 "tack welds" that im assuming are supposed to act as keepers to keep it from turning with the wheel. But for whatever reason it wont go on straight. If anyone can help please message me. Thanks!
