You might have an old Chevy if...

... you always back it in. Because you might need to jumpstart it.

I always back in or pull through a parking spot if I can because I have armstrong steering and a long bed.

That's actually pretty funny. I've had a vehicle or two in the past I've made sure I did that to. Irritating back then, kinda funny now ... Memories heh.

I always back in whenever possible because it's that much easier to get out or pull thru to the backwards position of the other stall if its open.

Invariably when backing out some moron doing 30 mph in a grocery store parking lot who had to be on the other far side of the lot when you start backing out will lay on the horn.

I almost never back my junk up. Which is a bad idea because I have a tricky driveway.

I'm just too lazy to do it.

When I started my business I had a '79 GMC van. Drove it with no reverse for about a year. I never backed into a parking space.

When I was logging, I always turned my pickup around and pointed out before I got out and started working.

I back in or pull thru most everywhere I go. It’s an oilfield thing, we are required to back in whenever we park our company trucks for whatever reason.(I don’t back in at my house)

If somebody gets hurt on a remote job site (which it always is logging), it's one less complication to get going for help/treatment. I never had to test it out myself (well, I stabbed a branch into my wrist one time coming down a steep hill on a Cat, but I was in no way immobilized).

But my buddy ... he cut his knee one time (not the first time!) while my wife and I were gone for a few days, and sure enough he had pulled in. He said it was interesting getting turned around and driving about eight miles down to another friend's place, but at least he had an automatic.

Nobody ever listens to me ...

The guy working for me had a Ford, so maybe that's why he didn't listen to me and back it in

I used to work for a telecom company. Same rule, back in so you don't have to back out.

Plus - you know the tools are in the back of the truck. Saves about 18 feet of carrying them

I always wondered why 80 percent of the pickup trucks parked outside of a restaurant in the ND oil patch were backed in.

Except it is easier to back out of our garage rather than backing into it uphill, which also puts the tailgate at the outside so we can load water jugs to take to the barn.

That's my only exception. Everything else is parked sidehill/pull through or backed in. I also try to keep the windshields out of the sun, and downwind in hail storm season. We're on a north slope so that fits anyway.

Re: You might have an old Chevy if...

You pull into a campground and get your trailer parked, and then your wife comes out a few minutes later and says that the whole magilla needs to be about 3 feet further to the right, and when you start it, everybody in the campground knows that you're due for a valve job.
