You should start a build thread. What paint did you use on your rear and how did you strip it?

Yes I probably should, but I am new to this...thanks to Nate's truck being on the LMC cover. I love that truck and had to find out more about it and my search for the owner lead me here. Let's call this a Nate tribute truck since his truck was the inspiration for this build. Maybe I will start a build thread on the next one. My wife and I should have this one complete in the next 30 to 45 days and as much as it kills us, we have already sold it. As far as the rear end, we removed it from the truck and blasted it using aluminum oxide. It was a horribly messy job. I was covered in black soot from head to toe, but it sure cleaned it up well. The paint is good old shake-em and shoot-em dark gray engine paint that mimics a raw cast iron look well. I can get you the exact brand tomorrow.

Thanks, appreciate it. Stripping my 12-bolt right now. How did you protect the seals and bearings and stuff when you blasted it?

I blasted it all assembled, so there was no need to protect anything.

Thank you Nate! That would be cool to get the trucks together, but unfortunately, as much as it kills us, we have sold this one already. We wish we could keep it, but we need the money for the next one. When we get to a point that we can afford to keep one, we will build another just like this! We really just want to give the buyer his down payment back but just can't right now.

If we count our labor, I think we are losing, but the dollars look good! Some day we will build a keeper and it will look just like this, but probably with a big block!

I just love this truck, great find and improvements. I'm debating how to lower my truck, and would like your evaluation on your set up. What you've done I could afford, but I'm trying to remove the coil over full cross member from my options. Due to price and amount of work, but I like the ground clearance and handling potential better.

How much better does your truck ride from stock, smoother, cornering?

I see you chose a manual master cylinder, I like the clean look without a booster. How much better is the braking?

Any regrets now that you've driven it a while?
