Hi. I am connecting the new wiring harness and putting in a new gauge cluster and am not sure if I have an oil pressure sending unit that connects to the wiring harness. I see the mechanic pressure line but do I also have an electric sensing unit? If so, I can't find it.

I think maybe I don't have electric anyway. Just mechanical. Is an electric sending unit just for idiot lights? I have a pressure line connected to the engine and pressure connection right here on the gauge cluster

it would appear you have a mechanical gauge port on gauge cluster (one your finger is on) so run the OP line to that. Oil light would take a specific sender from whatever port you would install that in on the engine. The one you have above oil filter would work assuming you have a oil light in your cluster it would feed

The 67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks only had either idiot lights or mechanical gauges.

Okay so it sounds like since I have an oil guage, there is no use for the oil wire on the new harness right? Thanks for the help on this.

The oil pressure line on the back of your engine should enter the cab through a rubber bushing in the firewall. The interior end should have a small fitting on it that will screw into the oil gauge port on the back of the cluster, that you have your finger on. Screw it in carefully, it is easy to get it cross threaded. You will need a 5/16" open end wrench for the fitting. You will not need the wire in the new harness.
