do you have any more pics of how you mounted the tach. I have a model just like it, but I am trying to find the best way to mount it behind the glass

Sorry but I don't have any additional pics. I didn't really have to mount mine but instead just used some 3m double sided tape to keep it from wanting to spin. If you go back to post #242 and look at the second picture you can see the gauge fits perfectly up against the hole in the cluster housing. See the gap to the left of the gauge, I placed a few layers of 1/4 thick foam tape in there then placed a few pieces of double sided tape on the gauge case and when I got it lined up with the hole in the cluster I just pressed the tape against the foam and that's that! It really gets held in place pretty well by the clear plastic cover that goes over all the gauges and with the double sided tape it has no chance of turning in the hole or anything!

There is really no need to hard bolt it in!

Hey fxdx, funny you should mention that, I was just following one today, real pretty little dark red step and it had a for sale sign in the back window. If I see it again I'll run him down and get the phone # for you. (I'm in the neighborhood too)

The only thing that fits through the hole are the two studs and the wires. The flat piece of the gauge rest right up against the plastic gauge cluster so maybe all you have to do is drill some small holes for the studs and wires? Do you have a pic?

Sounds good, nice and clean. Well done. Are you going to do rear disc brake swap? Did you get the info, I edit it for you with specs.

thanks! I am interested but it won't be this year, getting too close to boating season. Are you going to take some measurements first or just bolt everything up?

Yup, that's snow! Still a few small snow banks in the shady parts of the yard. It was a bad winter. At one point had over 4 feet of snow on the ground and the snow banks from plowing in my yard were 7-8 feet!

It's called "don't have a choice if I plan to tow my boat!" summer is fast approaching and this thing needs to be road worthy in the next 4-6 weeks!! It's going to be close!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....
