Not a 67-72 but has parts of 1 on it

Check out this cool old 48 Chevy 1 tom wrecker I stumbled across while picking up a parts rig. The friend of the owner was talking the truck up pretty good. I have seen the truck setting for years but never gave it much thought previously. Well there I was actually on the property getting another truck and this guy says it has a good 396 caprice engine, and a 67-72 dash and gauges. What was that? Dang it, now I had to check it out!

The man said they used the dash to utilize the 12v components. So it has partial wiring from a 69 up as well. I may have to re consider this truck. It surely is growing on me.

That would be a nice project, even has the deluxe cab with the extra windows.

obviously a mod moved your thread
using the newer gauges is different for sure, not sure its for the better
though it probably was in the 80s

Looks to be an owner built bed and boom. It also looks like the chain fall is the winch. Pretty basic but for someone in that area it would be pretty nifty for going after rigs and would pull a trailer.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
