Aftermarket 250CID p/s brackets

Good Evening everyone. Has anyone used the re-pop factory style power steering brackets that are avaible in the aftermarket? Like these in the link

https://www.jegs.com/i/Key+Parts/576...ABEgIJPPD_BwE#

I have been looking for a set of orginals, but have come up short so far. I would really like to convert to power steering on my ole' 69 soon. Thanks for any info.

That's a hefty price for copies of the stock brackets.

Be glad you're not trying to mount A/C on a 292. Very rare to begin with as most 292s were in company trucks when Air was considered a luxury.
I've seen aftermarket 292 A/C and P/S brackets, but they're way out there above the block and at weird angles, and then cost around $300.

Lol, not a bad price really when you see how much a used set cost!

OP, post on the classifieds. Someone should have some!

You won't regret it, totally different truck with PS

I'm sure they will fit fine, if they don't send them back

There are two different styles of brackets . I believe the ones shown are really for later models .

Re: Aftermarket 250CID p/s brackets

Look at this thread where I show pictures of the brackets and talk about pulleys. Those repop brackets look like they will work to me.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=408991

I'm kind of amazed the repop brackets don't come with a pulley or the lower support bracket that goes down and attaches lower on the engine block, right above the oil pan, behind the alternator. The lower support looks like a piece of flat bar that is twisted 90° with a hole in each end. I have had saved searches in ebay for years with the lower bracket part number and they never come up for sale. I'm guessing it's because it doesn't have the pn stamped in it and people don't know what they are.

It would be interesting to see if the repop brackets came with instructions showing where the spacers and such go. There are usually a couple pretty thick spacers needed that don't look like they are included with the repop.

Re: Aftermarket 250CID p/s brackets

I’m very familiar with the differences between a 250 and 292. The ps mounts off a square body 250 are the same right ?

"I think" so.... as far as I know is, as long it does not have the integrated intake manifold / cylinder head.

Thanks again..
