New from Kansas City Missouri

Been checking in here for a while and finally decided to register. My fiance and I and family are planning on building our 70 Chevy C-10 mostly in the driveway. Got it a few years back when I was still working. This will be a slow go. I'll be purchasing a lot of tools a long the way and money is tight. Truck has a 350 with I think a 4 speed in the floor. I wouldn't put faith in either. Looking to go with a 5.3 and an auto. Looking to have a driver. She has alot of "issues" in the form of rust to work on but we're not looking to have a show truck, just get her back on the road with a little update. Planning disk brakes up front, a drop in suspension while increasing stability. Steel Wheels nothing fancy. I do have some air bags and mounts but we're not sure if they'll get used or not yet. Planning on driving this truck to and from our wedding in 8.5 years. Like I said a slow go. I introduce Colleen

Welcome! Looks great, and would look even better with the correct bumper on the front

Re: New from Kansas City Missouri

Welcome! It'll be a great thing for that truck to get some care and attention, but it already looks cool. None of my business, but you're going to get married in 8 and 1/2 years? Are you roughly 9 and 1/2 years old and you're going to get married when you're 18? I'm confused, haha. Like I said, none of my business, but I couldn't help but ask. Hopefully you can do a build thread so we can follow along with your changes to the truck.

I guess you're right it is not any of your business why it might take this long. Thought we were on here about trucks. I guess you're still stuck in your teenage years worrying about grown people business. I'm not here for Internet hillbilly's. Keep it truckin or kick rocks.

Welcome from central Iowa. Nice truck to start with as well. If you have never been to the All Truck Nationals in the KC area in September, you should go. It's a great show with a great swap meet.

Re: New from Kansas City Missouri

Great! Thanks I'll surely be checking that out. I'm currently working on a 55 DeSoto Firedome 2 door hardtop that should be on the road this summer. I will be at as many shows as my wallet will allow after that! Thanks again for the info. I appreciate that!

It never would have occurred to me to inquire about anything to do with your marital status if you hadn't mentioned it. I figured maybe it was a typo and making a joke about it was my way of asking. I actually have no interest at all in your marital particulars. As far as name calling, intentional insults, etc., that's not appropriate. In the interest of avoiding that, I would recommend that you limit your posts to subjects that are directly related to trucks. Many of us are pretty comfortable with having a little personality show through. If I'm correctly separating the meaning of your post from its misplaced diminutive language, I can certainly limit myself from expressing any personality with regard to what you post here. My interest was simply in your truck and the story that you related to it and there was no offense intended. Since that didn't come across clearly, I will clarify: I like hearing about trucks and I never intend to offend anyone. So please try to understand anything I have to say from that perspective. Thank you.
