Absolutely, time changes everything. I have a bit of a tool fetish, and I enjoy making everything I can. It may be cheaper/easier sometimes to buy something but I take enjoyment in building my own stuff.

Re: Decade of Dedication, A Boys Dream 72 C-10

Update: I built a cnc tube notching attachment for my plasma table and then used it to finish out the front crossmember. Ground down all the welds on the boxing plates and the frame is finally ready for blasting.

Very cool! What does the tube notching attachment look like?

Awesome thread and work!

If you still have that front cross member and don't need it I'll buy it from you.

I need one to keep the front of my LWB frame square so I can weld it.

Keep up the good work!

Ryan, great work on both trucks! The 67 looks great. Did you ever get the 4L80E in it and going? Did I see it right? Is your trans cross member on your 72 frame welded in solid?

Re: Decade of Dedication, A Boys Dream 72 C-10

I just got the converter from Circle-D for the 80 tuesday so it will be going back together soon. The trans crossmember for the 72 is welded at the frame but it has tube disconnects to make it removable incase I need to service the transmission.
