Re: Found my Great-Grandfathers 1959 GMC Apache

If you look at the top of this page there is a black box with Google in the bottom. Click the 67-72... box, enter your question (year specific) and it searches this site usually bringing up dozens of pages. dig thru the responses to find your info. There are very few topics that have not been covered in the 6 years I have been on the site. I have also found that doing a google search and narrowing it to images helps. If you can find a picture of what you are looking for, you can find the site it is located on and go from there. Lots of times it ends up being this site if it is AD or TF related. Also, as I said before, get the Factory Assembly Manual and take a few hours to look thru it. Have a pad of yellow stickies and pencil handy to mark stuff that grabs your attention (like Oh that is how that step I need to replace goes together). I found a bunch of parts on mine that had been taken (or fallen) off over the years. Also saves on time spent figuring out how this or that was installed, lines ran or sequence of assembly.

Google image search ("operating your new gmc truck manual"), nor ebay sold listings search - neither produce any others finds. Must be, rare

What happened with the Deluxe Heater? Did the seller have it?

Re: Found my Great-Grandfathers 1959 GMC Apache

What exactly is the Kick Panel patch panel called?, the bottom of my Kick panel has rusted away. The Lower hinges back is gone as well. Inside the Cab on the top of where the door meets the Cab has rusted through really bad and will need to be fixed.Around the speaker is rusted (pin holes) and the rust on this truck is MIND BLOWING.

Re: Found my Great-Grandfathers 1959 GMC Apache

1959 Heater controls. What all normally comes with the Heater. Is that little knob the only controlling thing ??

Also picked up a Spare Tire and the Original Rim.I believe the Tire is the original White walled tire that came on it

That is the Kick panel. The bottom inside of the cowl is rusted as well.so is the edge of the floor

Re: Found my Great-Grandfathers 1959 GMC Apache

Knob controls the fan speed, the flip lever controls if it goes up to defrost or down to floor. Should be another level to control the water flow valve at the heater core.

Original tires would have been black walls, probably 5.5 x 15 or 16's.

Go to LMC trucks and browse thru the catalog. It organized by logical sections, one is the cab replacement body parts. That will get you what is available, nomenclature and price. If the cab is that rusty look at some threads and see how it needs to be braced and stabilized so you do not mess up your door and window frame alignment.
