What? No new years resolutions?

I may have missed them but I haven't seen any new years resolutions yet. I'm not one to make them but lots of people do, or used to.
Maybe they all failed and quit making them?

Re: What? No new years resolutions?

Jim,
I made an easy one. Told my wife I was gonna eat more chocolate in 2022.

Other than that, try to be more tolerant of my fellow man. At least I know I'll eat more chocolate!

Re: What? No new years resolutions?

I once read dark chocolate was heart healthy. Convinced me alright! Didn't help my tolerance levels though.

And the then wouldn't you know it. On January 2nd. I forgot my cigarettes at the F-ing bar.

Re: What? No new years resolutions?

For whatever reason, I have never done new year's resolutions. Figure I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do, right or wrong. I'm in for the dark chocolate, though. Good stuff. I recently bought some 95% which is almost like baking chocolate. My wife refuses to even try it. Also got some 90% which is just about perfect.

If you like dark chocolate try this recipe. My New years resolution is to make these at least 4 times a year...

---------------------------------------

Brigadeiros (Chocolate Fudge Balls)

Ingredients
· 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
· 4 Tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
· 2 Tbsp butter, plus more for rolling balls
· A pinch of salt
· 1/4 tsp Vanilla
· Good quality chocolate sprinkles (or any other type of coating you like)

Instructions

· In a small sauce pan mix the sweetend condensed milk, the cocoa powder, the salt and the butter.
· Bring the sauce pan to the stove and heat it over medium-low heat.
· Cook it, mixing constantly (this is important, otherwise it will burn!) until it thickens. A way to know is to run your wooden spoon (or spatula) in the middle of the mixture. If it takes a while for the mixture to fill in the hole, then your Brigadeiro is ready!

· Reserve, letting it cool to room temperature.
· In a plate or bowl, spread your sprinkles.
· Once the Brigadeiro is cool, grease your hands with butter and roll the Brigadeiros into little balls.(In Brazil we usually use half a tablespoon as measurement, but you can make your balls as big or small as you'd like!)
· Roll the Brigadeiro balls into the sprinkles and place them in paper/foil candy cups.

It's actually pretty easy.

Re: What? No new years resolutions?

I've never done New Years resolutions. I figure if I sincerely need to make a change in my life, then the time to do it is right then and there, not wait till New Years Eve.
