72 C10 Rear end question

Hey y'all,

I am doing a 6.0 ls swap in my 72. My question is, will i need to swap rear ends because I'm adding more power? I am going to put a stock 6.0 with a 4l80e behind it.

If i should swap it, what should i switch to? I know almost nothing about rear ends.

Thanks for the help!

The 402 big block installed in these trucks made more torque than your ls 6.0ltr..
so no need to change the rear end..
might want to change the gears depending on what it has. and what you want out of the truck. and if you need lsd /posi if it doesn't already have it..

Welcome to the board.

Not sure you are aware of it but we also have an "LSx Swaps" Forum on here. Lots of info on there too.

If you go to the bottom of this page you will see the "Forum Jump" box. Click on the small arrow on the right side of the box and you can scroll through all of the different forums available. If you see one that interests you just click on it and it will take you to it.
