Gmc v6 4 barrel intake.

Some of you might not be on Facebook “big block gmc v6” group but over the last year or so I’ve been developing a 4 barrel intake manifold to fit these and have been seeking a company to make them.

Today I found a company who is willing and they got me a quote!

It can be made to happen if we get 10 people at 550 each.

The file size for pictures on here is tiny so I’m going to reference my Instagram so that you can see it. I’ve 3d printed a prototype (1pc) and am going to be checking my dimensions so I can submit the final revision of my drawing.

I don't need one, as I don't have a V-6, but that is one cool piece! Looks like a tunnel-ram. Hopefully you find enough takers.

I thought the same thing initially but I don't think that is much more than a performer RPM hieght wise. If the runners are sized good it should be a nice runner. I wonder if they can get a cam to support that air flow now. A quick look on the net says max HP RPM was only 3600 RPM with around 150 horses. Interesting for sure.

That would be good one for high RPM not so much for idle and low speed driving.

Big Block GMC? What's a small block? I thought you had to have a small block to have a big block. Sorry, a pet peeve of mine I guess. I think it's great to see performance parts coming around for these mighty motors. Gotta design off the original dynamics of these low RPM torque monsters. Some got it up top while others got it down low

Isn't the biggest displacement of that engine something like 470+ cubes? Even if it doesn't wind up tight, more flow would still be beneficial if metered properly.

Yeah it’s not much taller, but it’s a much nicer shot to the port than stock with a much larger plenum.
Considering stock is a single plane it should still be an improvement as well as being aluminum vs iron.

There may not be a ton of RPM left on the table but I think if it can improve everything below the max I think it’s a win

Also cam wise delta cams will do weld/regrinds for 150 per cam (I have one based off my 478 cam)

It’s the name of the group, I didn’t choose it.
It was probably chosen because it’s easy to identify that it’s not the Chevy v6 by saying big block.

My thought process is more that if the factory setup was a compromise to begin with to push the torque peak as low as possible paired with a really restrictive cam then changing to a much better flowing intake and cam will make it perform in the rev range for light duty trucks and those using bigger engines might actually get the breathing these engines deserve.
