Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

It's looking very nice! But I have to agree, a 6 cylinder would make that truck so much more fun.

We had a local shop build it out, but I was in there alot. I don't have any pics of the coupler, 27 to 31 spline (if I remember right), but we did have to chase a new down...wasn't with the Dodge 205 I picked up.

Thanks Dw, If I was more familiar with the 6s, I might have gone that way...no teaching old dogs new tricks

Looks sweet!

If that was a dodge 4wd Nv4500 then it was 29 spline.

Cool man, thanks! I am trying to mate a 10spl 205 to a 32 spline chevy using the Dodge adapter like you have. Now I know for a fact that there is a coupler available!

You guys have it all wrong. That 58 cab is to be on the lift and the new frame under it. If you keep trying to mount that 66 complete truck on your new frame you will never get done !!!!

How much longer before the cab and frame get married ?

And did you mini tub the burb? Looks like big boots on the back.

I'm anxious to get the body swapped over, probably be a few weeks at least though. We want to work out the body mounts on my boys truck first (why its on the lift).

Yep, mini tub on the burb along with a narrowed 60, discs, 3.54/powerlok, 29x15.5x15 Hoosiers

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

We've been struggling with exhaust clearance issues with the clutch slave, PTO, and even engine to frame (modified mounts to lower engine in chassis). Stock exhaust manifolds still fit (barely), but are my least favorite option.
We brought a set of fenderwell headers in to try, but a lot of inner fender would have to disappear to let these work...but we're kinda digging the look!

Man, that is looking great and I dig the look of the fenderwell headers, they just might be the way to go...LOL...anyway, thanks for sharing your updates and good luck getting more done on your truck here. Keep it coming, we love reading about your builds!
