I recently bought a 69 frame and cab with a strange frame loop with a cable and another bracket attached to the cable. It wasnt attached to the cab and im not sure what it is. Andy input is appreciated!

It is a safety cable in case the motor mounts break. The end with the bracket bolts to the engine.

Yep that was a early "Fix" until they came out with the no break version of motor mount

Probably all V8's. It wasn't a real issue until they started putting the Higher Horsepower Engines in the cars.

It was particularly a problem with V8 engines with a rod-type throttle linkage. If the motor mount broke, it could leave the throttle open.

You haven’t lived until you’ve have a broken mount and it goes full throttle.
Been there, done that.

A full installation would of had a pieces on both sides of the engine. See the link to Hardcore Chevy to see the other side pieces.

That pretty interesting, that you actually have the recall letter. I wont be using the bracket for my build because of a ls swap.
