When I corner hard I don't have alot of body roll any more. Also When I go over the railroad tracks the front end doesn't bounce as much. I'm going to do a rear sway bar later.

ya thats what i need...when i take a turn my body moves from one side to the other... and it causes my back tires to rub om my wheel wells... its now worse with the new tires...that are bigger and wider... im going to but 1.5" wheel spacers and hope that it is enough to stop it from doing it...and also give it a really awesome stance

Re: Project "Old Blue"

My speedometer is off now since I changed the transmission so I dont know for sure but on highway I think I'm at around 12mpg with the trans slipping and the engine not running to good. I'm buying a rebuilt long block and a transmission from eatmyshift.com today to replace what I have now.

Re: Project "Old Blue"

I have some updates

I bought the transmission I have been talking about on here for a while now. I got the 700r4 from eatmyshift.com and had them install their T/C lock-up kit and TCI's constant pressure valve body. This is going to be so much easier to install then the last 700r4 that I got out of a '91 short bed. The lock-up just wires into a keyed power spot on the fuse block and the T/V cable with the new valve body is just to set the shift points now.

I had to get a rebuilt long block 350 to put in because I was having oil pressure problems and the intake lifter on the number 5 cylinder got dished out by the cam.

I'll post some pics up when I get it finished and running.

Re: Project "Old Blue"

I took a few days off to get it finished but for some reason after lunch I get tired of working on it and get a mental block on what I should do next.

All I have left is:

*Bend the new lines for the transmission
*transfer the speedo gear from my old transmission
*hook up my shifter linkage
*run the wire for my T/C lock-up
*put oil in the engine
*prime the engine
*put the valve covers on
*hook up the thermostat wire
*put the radiator in and hook up the heater hoses
*put the alt. on and belts
*mount the headers
*install the battery
*put the transmission fluid in
*and break in the cam

Not a whole lot

Re: Project "Old Blue"

Well I got it running Saturday. I just have some minor leaks to take care of but everything is running great. Besides the belt squeal That I have tried over and over again to get rid of.

Here are a few posts of pictures for you to look at that I took while I was working on it. I found out that my lifter was the problem for my engine messing up. Pic below

Re: Project "Old Blue"

What year blazer gas tank did you purchase to mount between the rear frame rails? How did the TV cable work out to the 700r4?
