Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

My truck has the original chrome west cost mirrors and they are in a sad state. Does anyone make a good reproduction?

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

I could be wrong, but I don't think there were any factory chrome west coast mirrors. So far as I'm aware, you could set Sr and Jr in painted and, less commonly, the Jrs in stainless.

If they're stainless they're probably worth something and unless they're totally beat, anything stainless can be usually polished to "like new".

I chromed my Srs, as shown, but its' not "correct" because all the Srs were painted.

I may be wrong, but aren't the mirrors themselves the same as used on the big trucks, you can still buy them, stainless or painted...I have them on my 74 chevy C65 five yard dump truck...

Hello,
I like the set up up you have on your truck.
I was wondering where you bought the West Coast assembly from. I like the fact that the supports don't go half way down the door.

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

Mine came with the truck! Not reproduced so far as I know, but they're not the hot ticket with the sport truck crowd, so they're likely obtainable used as a takeoff.

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

My '68 C/10 Stepside rolled outta Fremont with white West Coast Jr mirrors. While ''you can have any color WC-Jr mirror you want... As long as you want white..." on my 516 Orange pickup, with 1968 Model Year styling of White-face grille and white tailgate letters, the white mirrors look good.
The good thing about these mirrors is they are completely rebuildable. Unlike the Squarebody series mirrors that have to be completely replaced when the glass breaks, the old WC Jrs, come apart, and a good glass shop can cut new mirror glass and reassemble them with new rubber gaskets and you're good to go for another 20 years.
If you really want chrome WC-Jrs, buy a pair of beat up old white ones, get them beadblasted and off to the chrome shop.

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

The mirrors aren't reproduced and only white painted were available in either style. Anything stainless is aftermarket. Not sure the '73-up Senior West Coasts will fit right

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

I had zero luck trying to find a set of West Coast Jr's with a WTB ad here on the board. I did get some really nice aftermarket "similar-ish" mirrors from a board member. Haven't installed them yet. Too many irons in the fire right now.

Any of the 6X11 stainless west coast Jr's I have come across clearly have the "F" word stamped in them. (FORD)

What the hell. Parts is parts... I've got a '69 Thunderbird BucketBack/Bench seat w/ electric 3-Axis adjust -- in my 68 Chevy C/10 Stepside.[ Revinylled in saddle naugahyde. No electric movement now. I don't dare trust the switch.]
<<If it near fits, spark it on and grind back later. Lets get rolling -- were losing daylight.>>
I have a '71 Jimmy, that the PO attached some chrome dumbo ears off a Squarebody. At first, I couldn't stand 'em. Wanted to pull 'em off and affix some real WC-Jrs. Couldn't find the right kind. With the ''soft'' fiberglass roof, you couldn't have a topstay anymore, so the High-Low attachment style of the '67-'68s was not possible.
Anyway I got used to 'em, and now I like 'em but the floppyness of the dumbo ears still gets me.
One day I may spend $29.96 on a pair of F@rd style rearview side mirrors. Outta the JC Wharschovlofski Catalog. Simple, stark and functional. Just to clean up the ground vibrations.
At the risk of getting my GMC Jimmy callled a Bronco, that is.

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

do a search in google for "west coast jr mirrors" there are a few options that you'll have to weed through but you can find them. I found a set that was stainless aftermarket but they looked just like the rusted out white ones that came on my '67

I just fixed my passenger side mirror this past Friday! DA me broke it again. Trying to set it. Second time. I fixed it this time. New mirror cut and wired the mirror frame together.
I took small S/S wire and tied it around the top nut then ran down to the bottom nut and tied it up tight. Want come a part no more!

Old thread, I know. But I cannot find these. Ordered some from Raneys Chrome back in September and they still can’t tell me if they will ever ship.

Re: Does anyone repop West Coast mirrors

I have West coast senior mirrors and the preset swivel bumps are worn out. I see some options in the Mills supply website

https://www.millsupply.com/search.ph...cs=1+8622+8081

Any one use these parts? Or anyone have another supplier?

Thanks for any help

Have some patience. Two posts in the same thread, three minutes apart, and the creation of a new thread on the same subject is a wee bit much.

I bought the mirrors in the link and they rusted pretty much the day I installed them. Fine if you like instant patina I guess.

If you want chrome ones best to get them properly rechromed in the USA. I like paint because Chinese chrome is impossible to maintain, but I concede that some people have to have chrome for their builds.

For mine I got an original armature, blasted and painted it, and then bought some painted white mirrors from a big rig supplier, they look pretty good so far I think. The armature is the key, the mirrors themselves are not hard to come by. This is not a great pic but the mirrors are powder coated and look quite good. They "fit" the look of the truck, anyway.

Not a big deal. The two posts are identical, so probably an accident, I'd think. The new thread was started for his own specific inquiry. Some Could say "Don't hijack someone's thread" or "Start your own thread" just as easy.
