dying plastic door panels from black to blue!?

well i heard some bad stuff about the repro 72 door panels but i found a set of really good black ones, is it possible to spray them with some sort of plastic dye? i want to get them blue? will it hold up or should i not bother and wait for some blue panels. also where can i get the dye?

It would be up to you but I have done it with old jeep seats it dosnt look to bad, their is a primer to help it stick, & a clear you can put on to make it shiny. I dont know how well it will work going from black to blue. It would be better going from a light color to a dark. you can some times find it at auto zone, I would try Paddock they carry all the interior & vinle dye & it is made to be the same color of origenal colors for our trucks.

Hope this helps you out?

The kid that previously owned my truck, just used some tremclad in a rattle can to paint the panels. Still holding up after 5 years.
