Re: Dub

Well I'm over 50 so I looked it up in Webster

1 a : to confer knighthood on b : to call by a distinctive title, epithet, or nickname
2 : to trim or remove the comb and wattles of
3 a : to hit (a golf ball) poorly b : to execute poorly
- dub·ber noun

MY GUESS: #3 to execute poorly

???????????????

Re: Dub

Any time you're wondering about slang terms and what they mean, www.urbandictionary.com is the end-all be-all resource on the web to learn about them.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=dub

That's a great explanation. There is also a company named "DUB" which sells wheels and other stuff.

Also see "dubs":

Duh-b as in "double".

Re: Dub

Yeah, it is. "Peace, see ya later" is probably what he was trying to express. People do that to me when I'm driving the truck, I think it's like the "thumbs up" that fellow Impala drivers used to give me back in the day when I drove by them in my Impala.

Definately an aknowledgement of "Peace" and nice ride. Thumbs up is pretty much the same thing "I like your ride." I get a lot of head nods here in San Jose, which is pretty much the same as the peace sign and thumbs up. It's just people saying they like your ride, which is always cool.

My favorite is when a guy acts like he doesn't see your ride and then breaks his neck trying to get a better look when he thinks you don't see him.

Re: Dub

Any time I ever heard or used dub, it ment to do something but not very productive, say if you're "flub dubbin' around" means your not doing much, but doing something.
